General ledgers, 1847-1919.

These ledgers record debits and credits to accounts, including the contingent fund and the account for feeding state prisoners. The entries record the date, amount paid, to whom paid, and the warrant number. The beginning of the ledger has an index to the ledger, listing the name of each account. Most of the indexes are in alphabetical order. Some of the state funds included the military fund, the State Treasurer's account, election returns account, Bureau of industrial resources, the governor's salary, etc.
